Cheryl Basic and her daughter Ema ran Wildfire Garden Bromeliad Nursery Yandina on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast for more than ten years, but they have been involved in the plant world for as long as they can remember.
Their travels in search of rare and unusual varieties have taken them far and wide from the tropics of Thailand to the jungles of Costa Rica, and have seen them play an active part in the Chelsea Flower Show which is known as the world’s most prestigous flower show.
Cheryl has been involved in the following societies:
– International Cordyline Society Inc.
– Sunshine Coast Bromeliad Society
– Bromeliad Society International
– Cactus and Succulent Society
– Nambour Orchid Society
– Palm & Cycad Society
Cheryl has now retired but still enjoys pottering around the nursery tending to her beautiful collection of broms.
